MenWeb - Men's Issues: The Lace Curtain

MenWeb - Men's Issues: The Lace Curtain: "When I was first elected to the Board of the National Organization for Women (NOW) in New York City, I was 26. I had never written for a national publication. The New York Times sought me out, did a major story on me and the men's groups I was running, and asked me to write an op. ed. piece. I did. They published it, with hardly a word changed. They asked me to do a second. Again they published it with hardly a word changed. And a third....
As long as I was writing from a feminist perspective, The New York Times published everything I wrote. Once I began questioning the feminist perspective, The New York Times published nothing I wrote - not a single one of the more than twenty articles I have since submitted to them in the following two decades. "
This same story is found all over the web. It feels like a conspiricy of silence some days.

BBC NEWS | UK | Politics | Equal parenting rights rejected

BBC NEWS | UK | Politics | Equal parenting rights rejected: "Cafcass (the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) should also be actively trying to get a practical solution rather than having to spend time writing reports, said the minister.
And there should be new ways for courts to enforce access orders.
'We give the courts a much greater menu of enforcement powers, so it's not just prison, which is a non-starter in most of the cases, it's a whole range or other things as well,' added Lord Falconer."

This is all well and good but there is no way of ensureing that these key roles are filled by people qualified to make such choices for the children and the parents.

Erin Pizzey said.

"'There are as many violent women as men, but there's a lot of money in hating men, particularly in the United States - millions of dollars. It isn't a politically good idea to threaten the huge budgets for women's refuges by saying that some of the women who go into them aren't total victims.' -- Erin Pizzey, quoted in David Thomas, Men: Not Guilty"

Public figures

Lets hear it for the Tories, for once it would seem that a political party has understod that dads DO care about what happens to their children!
They are tring to push for children to be able to see both their parents the same amount of time. 50/50 cusderdy. this is a good step to people out there realising that Fathers and Men in general are capable of looking after other human beings!

Also today (12/07/04) I was watching part of 'Loose Women' And instead of constaintly slaging of any attemt a male makes to show affection, they praised them for showing that they care and that they do try to help, even though they aren't mind readers, they try to do what us women want!

Lets hear it for the ones who are honest with the others in what they know to be true and not what they have heard third hand.

Reasons to Be Male

Wedding plans take care of themselves.

Car mechanics tell you the truth.

You don't care if someone notices your new haircut.

Same work ... more pay.

Wrinkles add character.

Wedding Dress = £2000; morning suit hire = £100.

Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds.

A five-day holiday requires only one suitcase.

You can go to a public toilet without a support group.

You can leave the hotel bed unmade.

You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.

If you are 34 and single, nobody notices.

Everything on your face stays its original colour.

You can quietly enjoy a car journey from the passenger's seat.

Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.

You can drop by to see a friend without having to bring a little
gift.

You are not expected to know the names of more than fivecolours.

You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a
bolt.

You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.

The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.

You don't have to shave below your neck

Laws

There was a law that said if a wife had an affair, than the husband gets full time resedency, and vice-vercer.

What happened?

Are there more laws like this that you are aware of?

Family

Please not think that though this site is mainly aimed at the male population, who I feel are grosly under-represented in todays world, but also to the friends and families that have been draged in to this whole problem, knowing that there is a problem out there but not knowing what to do about it.

Please have your say here with out the fear of being poo-pooed.

We are trying to get the truth across.

Equality

When we talk about equality, there is so much to cover.
For example, If a bloke gets a kick in, people think he must have deserved it, but if it happens to a lass then every-one is out raged!
I one instance I heard of, A wife continuously beat her husband up and has even put him in hospital, but one day when he tried to defend him self, she fell and Broke her arm. The husbands was the one arrested, and all she said was "nothing gives him the right to hurt me". What about the man? Does he not have feelings?

I know men that have been abused as a child, One of them said something when he got older but the response was not encouraging, they said "Get over it, your older now. Having been in this situation I know how hard it is to 'get over it'.

Many men have had their wife take there children of them for no go reason, and the courts have let them.

Please try to think of how these loving fathers feel, having there world ripped apart and the courts laughing at them because they love there children.

About Matt B

Hallo, My name is Matt B and I am here as a representative from the gender freedom alliance.

I am here in an advisory and technical capacity and may from time to time be inclined to post on issues as they arise.

I am a dad and that means that little people need me to be the best me I can for them. Sometimes that means I can not post, review or answer because my life in the real world must come first.

Gender Equality

Gender Equality is one of the things this generation is rapidly losing and as a result there is a war brewing and if we don't take the warning signals seriously than all previous world or cold wars will become un-inportant as this will affect every family and will rip stable relationships apart and you will see sibling killing each other. All this because lies have been told and even though the truth has since beentold, extreamists have decided that the truth is obsolete. The knock on affect is so extream that We need to tell the truth and surrport each other or face the worst devestaion which will ultametly see the removel of the human race.
To understand what I am rabbiting on about, please stay tuned.

(and ignore bad spellings please.)

Tell us your story

This site is a save haven for those that have been treated with predjudice by the oppeset sex. I am awaer that there are hate-site that do nothing but degrade men. THIS IS NOT ONE! If I think that you post is nothing more than a missguided putting down of some one then you will be blocked. This is purely for people to support each other in times of trial and help each other realise that the world has two genders, and both genders are needed to continue the human race. And if a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bike then I'm going to open a fish-bike shop!

Please use this site with care, its the first step to stopping gender-wars.
